Burne Hogarth

To draw comics seriously, I needed to learn anatomy. In 1973, I decided to buy the book "Dynamic Figure Drawing" by Burne Hogarth. That was a major investment because foreign books in communist Yugoslavia were very expensive. And in my city, Zagreb, there was only one foreign
book shop in Gunduliceva Street. I don't know how helpful the book was for learning anatomy, but the drawings were very exciting and monumental, especially hands.

Forty-three years later, I managed to buy one of Burne Hogarth's original drawings.
Now finally his hands are in my hands. Strange feeling.

Although this drawing is dedicated to someone in 1992, it was drawn much earlier.
